Bulls' Joakim Noah Out At Least 2 Weeks With Sprained Left Shoulder
(CBS) Bulls big man Joakim Noah will miss at least two weeks with a sprained left shoulder.
Noah suffered the injury in the third quarter of Monday's home loss to the Nets when he ran into Andrea Bargnani while helping defensively on a play. He left the floor in serious pain, and an MRI confirmed the sprain Monday. Noah will do rehab for two weeks and then be re-evaluated, coach Fred Hoiberg said. He'll still have to work his way back into game action after that.
The Bulls have six games over the next 14 days.
After struggling early in the season, Noah had come on strong of late and been a key contributor for the Bulls. He was averaging 8.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his past six games. For the season, Noah's averaging 4.5 points on 41 percent shooting while adding 8.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
Noah's absence will open up more playing time for rookie power forward Bobby Portis.
