Bulls In Position To Trade Draft Picks

CHICAGO (WSCR) While many teams will be looking for their next big star in Thursday's NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls find themselves in a much different position.

Coming off a very successful season in which the Bulls surpassed expectations with 62 wins and an Eastern Conference Finals appearance, they are merely looking to add a few pieces to what they already have. And according to Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick, they could trade either or both of their first round picks for a veteran who could help immediately.

"They are sounding like they are pretty motivated to do something with those picks," he told The Boers and Bernstein Show on 670 The Score Wednesday.

If the Bulls can't make a move with either the No. 28 or No. 30 overall pick, Amick thinks they may draft a European player who they can develop for later down the road.

"You got a couple hands to play that a lot of teams don't have," he said. "You factor in the labor situation and the likely lockout, it almost gives a team like the Bulls more carte blanche to make that pick that is more of an investment – more of a longterm move ... Those are the kind of things you can do when you are a good team."
