Bulls Expect More Of The Same In Indianapolis
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Bulls entered the NBA Playoffs with the best record in the league, and were 21-3 over the last two months of the regular season.
The Indiana Pacers, on the other hand, own the worst record among all 16 playoff teams. Conventional wisdom would think that the Bulls, along with MVP frontrunner Derrick Rose would rout the Pacers in the first two games at the United Center, but that's not what happened.
The Bulls won both games, but need MVP-level performances from Rose in back-to-back fourth quarters to lead the Bulls in consecutive comeback wins.
"It's not the way you want to get those two [wins]," Luol Deng said. "But this is the playoffs, you know, it's not going to be pretty. We did our job at home, now we go there and hopefully we'll put another game together."
The series now shifts to Indianapolis, where the Pacers where much tougher over the course of the season, posting a 24-17 record opposed to their 13-28 record on the road.
"Every game will be tough," Carlos Boozer said. "I don't think there's going to be any easy games in these playoffs, in any series. We look forward to some more tough games, and we're built for that. We've had close games all season and we don't expect any easy games."
