Bulls Entering New Territory With Wins
If lately it's seemed like every time the Bulls play, they win, that's because that's kind of been the case. Over their last 18 games, the Bulls have won 14 of them, including a streak of seven and current streak of five games.
"Just have to stay humble," Luol Deng said. "We know what we are striving towards."
We all know what they're striving towards. For perhaps the first time since the Jordan era, the Bulls are legitimate title contenders. The way they've been winning, and the jump they've taken this season, the team is on ground that some players haven't seen before.
"This is new for a lot of us," Deng said. "So the main thing is really to know that it could be gone anytime. We just have to keep working hard and keep getting better."
There's potential for this team to be even better. They're without Joakim Noah, who before he injured his hand was putting together an All-Star caliber season. But the team hasn't slowed down a bit since Noah went down. And a great deal of the credit for that has to go to the way this team is built. It has superstars like Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer; second tier players like Noah, Deng and Kyle Korver; but they also have players willing to do whatever it takes to win.
"My whole philosophy is coming in helping the team," Bulls' forward Taj Gibson said of contributing off of the bench. "If I can't score, I'm trying to get shot blocks, rebound the ball, bring the energy, bring [anything] to the team to help us push the lead and help us get easy wins."
And hopefully those wins will keep coming.
