Bulls Drop Pre-Season Opener
Tom Thibodeau will have to wait for his first win as a head coach (pre season or otherwise) as the Bulls dropped a 92-83 decision up in Milwaukee. As expected (and get used to this) the Bulls new coach complained about his teams defensive play. They did hold the Bucks to just those 92 points and they did force 24 turnovers but Thibodeau will rarely, if ever, be satisfied with the defensive performance.
On the offensive end, Kyle Korver scored 22 points while displaying a good shooting eye, Luol Deng notched 16 points and Derrick Rose had 13 but that's about it. The Bulls shot just 42% and if you take away the three players mentioned the rest of the squad shot about 30%.
Newcomers Keith Bogans and C.J. Watson were almost non existent and rookie Omer Asik showed that he is a long term project. It's also apparent that Brian Scalabrine will make the final roster as he played over 20 minutes. Thibodeau coached Scalabrine in Boston and you can bet he wants someone who is well familiar with his philosophy.
It's also apparent that the Bulls will basically have to tread water until Carlos Boozer comes back from his broken hand in late November. The Bulls counted on Boozer being their first low post threat in quite some time and nobody else on this team is capable of that.
