Bulls' Derrick Rose 'Most Likely' Out Against Warriors
(CBS) Point guard Derrick Rose will "most likely" miss his second consecutive game with a sprained left ankle when the Bulls play at the Warriors on Friday night, coach Fred Hoiberg told reporters
Rose had been listed as questionable for the game. He's improving, Hoiberg told reporters, but the Bulls have made it clear they'll exercise caution with him.
Rose suffered his ankle sprain midway through the fourth quarter of Monday's home win against the Pacers when his foot planted awkwardly on a baseline drive. He termed it a "regular" ankle sprain afterward. Rose had averaged 13.6 points through Chicago's first 10 games, shooting 37.7 percent as he also deals with double vision.
Rose's absence puts the Bulls in a bind. Reserve point guard Aaron Brooks has also been ruled out already with a hamstring injury, and Warriors point guard and reigning MVP Steph Curry is arguably the toughest cover in the entire league.
Kirk Hinrich will likely get the start at point guard for Chicago, and E'Twaun Moore will have increased responsibility as well.
The Warriors are off to a 13-0 start, just two games away from tying the NBA record for the best start to a season.
Golden State is 46-2 at home in the regular season since the start of the 2014-'15 season. The Bulls did hand the Warriors one of those two losses last January with a 113-111 victory at Oracle Arena.
