Buffone: Martz Took Stupid Pills

(WSCR) You can add Bears great Doug Buffone to the list of those who aren't too thrilled with the play-calling by offensive coordinator Mike Martz.

When the Bears faced a first-and-goal from the 4-yard line late in the game with a comfortable lead, Martz elected to call three-straight passing plays instead of running out the clock.

"To be honest with you, I thought he took stupid pills at that time," Buffone told The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Tuesday. "There is no way in hell he should be doing that. He should be killing the clock by running the ball. You've been running them all over the place anyway why take the shot? I don't get it. But, once again, that's Mike Martz. That's who he is."
