Buehrle Reaches 150-Win Mark, How Does He Stack Up?
CHICAGO (WSCR) Mark Buehrle picked up a big win on Monday night. His 6.2 innings of shutout baseball helped the Chicago White Sox break their five-game losing streak, but it was also a milestone in his career.
Buehrle's 150 wins are good for eighth most wins in franchise history. He's played all 12 of his Major League seasons on the South Side after being drafted in the 38th round in the 1998 amateur draft.
Over those 12 seasons he's started 341 games (4th in franchise history), faced 9,650 batter (7th in franchise history), pitched 2,316.2 innings (8th in franchise history) and struck out 1,309 batters (5th in franchise history).
His career earned run average is a pedestrian 3.86, but it's hard to argue that Buehrle isn't among the best pitchers ever to take the mound for the White Sox.
