Bryce Harper's Message To Kids: 'Be As Sexy As You Can'
(WSCR) It's safe to say Bryce Harper has made a splash during his first season with the Nationals.
When he's not stealing home or arguing with Ozzie Guillen, Harper likes to give back to the community.
The 19-year-old outfielder took some time during the Nationals day off Thursday to visit a group of kids participating in a baseball camp. Along with donating $2,500 dollars to a youth baseball league, Harper offered a piece of advice to the young players, who ranged from 6 to 14 years old.
"Be as sexy as you can," Harper said.
Oh, and there was this gem.
"The biggest thing is having fun and really trying to enjoy yourself, and that's what I did every single day," Harper said. "Go get a Slurpee or a milkshake right after you play. That's what I always used to do. Just have as much fun as you can, and battle for your team, and try to win. Losing's not fun. When people say 'It's OK, you had a great game but you lost.' Nah.
"You want to win every single game. You don't want to be one game away from the championship and you lose, and 'Oh, it's OK.' No it's not. I'm sorry. I want to win every single game. I want to win that championship."
