Brown Line Reroutes To Affect Wellington, Diversey Stations

CHICAGO (STMW) - Loop-bound Brown Line trains will bypass the Wellington and Diversey stations Wednesday and Thursday because of a building demolition near the North Side "L" tracks.

The reroute will be in effect from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. both days to allow for the building demolition next to CTA tracks and structure, a CTA release said.

Southbound Brown Line trains will still operate into the Loop, but will be operating on the Red Line tracks, and therefore won't be able to stop at either the Wellington and Diversey stations, the release said.

Customers at either of those stations who want to travel toward the Loop should take a northbound Brown Line train to Belmont, then transfer to a southbound train, the release said.

Riders who want to exit at either Wellington or Diversey should travel to Fullerton, then transfer to a northbound Brown Line train to ride back, the release said.

Train operators will announce routes on each train, but customers are still advised to allow extra travel time.
