Brizard Says He Won't Accept Bonus For Improved Test Scores
strong>CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Public Schools chief executive officer Jean-Claude Brizard says that if he is offered a salary bonus for raising students' test scores, he won't accept it.
But as WBBM Newsradio 780 Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports, there may still be such language in his contract.
Brizard says he won't disclose full details of his contract with the Chicago School Board, because it's still being worked out.

But as prior reports have indicated, his salary is $250,000, and there will likely be a provision for a bonus if figures such as test scores improve substantially.
"I think it's a fair number. I think it's a low number. I'm not looking to be greedy whatsoever, but I do want to be judged based on how effective I am as a leader," Brizard said.
Brizard says if he's offered a bonus, he won't take it, in part because the school system is under financial pressures.
"I would not, no," he said. "First of all, it will take us more than a year to really move numbers, so let's be realistic about what can be done in a short time."
