British Tourist Missing After Visiting West Pullman Nightclub
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A young tourist from London disappeared this weekend after leaving a nightclub in the West Pullman neighborhood.
Ademola Owolana, 26, was last seen around 4:30 a.m. Saturday outside of Club Low Key, in the 11600 block of South Michigan Avenue.
His friends said he was angry because he wanted the keys to a car, but was told he couldn't have them. He sprinted down the street, and has been missing ever since.
Owolana was born and raised in London. He was visiting family in Chicago, and was supposed to fly home on Thursday.
He and two friends went club-hopping Friday night, and Club LowKey was their last stop.
His mother and niece were posting fliers in the area Monday morning. They were told Ademola went outside to go home early Saturday, but took off running after he was told he couldn't have the keys to a relative's car. His mother said it doesn't make sense.
"He wouldn't just run away. He could have a walk if he's upset. That's normal for everyone, but for him to just take off and run? No," Bolanle Owolana said. "Please help me find my son so he can go back home. Please help me find him. I need your help. Please, I'm begging you."
The last man to see him said he searched for Ademola all day Saturday.
"He was being aggressive, so I was kind of calling him, like, 'Ade, come back here. This is the car. Where are you going?' You know, he didn't listen to me,"
family friend Sheriff Akinosho said.
His niece, Sabi Fowlawyio, said she's worried he might be hurt.
"Maybe he fell, or something happened, or he hit his head. It might be a concussion," she said. "If he's not hurt, then he should have … the police station is right down the street."
Owolana's family said he does not have a cell phone with him.
He is 5-foot-5 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, a dark green jacket, and a baseball cap. He also was wearing a gold chain with a Versace pendant, and tattoos that say "Family First" and "Loyalty" on his left arm and shoulder.
His family said he has no known mental illness.
Chicago and Glenwood police were investigating. He was staying at a Glenwood address.
