Briggs: Nobody Gets Booed At Home More Than The Bears
(WSCR) Linebacker Brian Urlacher caught the ire of Bears fans when he said he didn't care about the fans or media following Sunday's loss to the Packers.
Now, days later, Lance Briggs is standing up for his teammate, saying no team in the NFL receives such harsh criticism from their hometown crowd.
"I understand where he's coming from," Briggs told Comcast SportsNet Chicago. "I've been here a long time, too, and I've (heard) a lot of boos - for a lot of the wrong reasons. Nobody, on any team I've seen, gets booed more at home than here in Chicago."
Briggs did explain the boos come from a heightened passion for football in Chicago.
"That's also a point to the passion of the Chicago fans," he said. "Everyone is passionate, but everyone in Chicago doesn't know how to run a football team. Everyone doesn't know how to play professional football. It's our job to do that."
