CHICAGO (CBS) -- A cold front quietly slips through the area Thursday night, bringing the return of cooler north winds that will drop temperatures on Friday.

A weak disturbance follows the front, increasing clouds Friday morning and bringing a few hit-or-miss light rain showers during the morning commute. Cool sunshine returns on Friday afternoon.

This weekend, gusty south winds boost highs above 80 degrees Saturday, then another mainly dry and windy cold front blows through early Sunday.

This will clear the way for lovely weather at Soldier Field for the Bears game, with comfortable temperatures and gusty winds.

Spectacular fall weather continues next week with cool morning lows in the 40s.
