Bridgeport Street Brawl Leaves One Dead

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two 'persons of interest' are being questioned in the death of a man stabbed in the neck during a street fight in the Bridgeport neighborhood early Sunday on the South Side.
No charges have been filed as of Monday morning but police are questioning two "persons of interest" in the slaying which happened about 6 a.m. in the 1000 block of West 34th Place, according to police.
Carlos Cartagena, of an unknown home address, was pronounced dead on the scene at 1050 W. 34th Pl. at 6:46 a.m., according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The man in his 20s was stabbed in the neck during a street fight, according to the spokesman.
Police said no one else was hurt.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
