Brewers Trying To Move Greinke; White Sox Reportedly Interested
(WSCR) Brewers general manager Doug Melvin confirmed Thursday the team is taking calls to move veteran starter Zack Greinke.
One source told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt that there's virtually no possibility the former Cy Young Award winning will remain with the ball club past the July 31 trade deadline.
"It sounds like he's as good as gone," the source said. "There's no reason for them to keep him now."
The White Sox, who are in need of a veteran starting pitcher, have long been rumored in the Greinke sweepstakes.
