Suspect In Custody For Hair-Salon Robberies
SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS) -- Police say they may have captured the armed bandit who has recently been robbing hair salons in Chicago and the suburbs.
Skokie Police confirmed late Monday that a suspect has been arrested and is being questioned about the string of more than a dozen robberies.
"It is still in the early stages of the investigation and several detectives from many jurisdictions are following up numerous investigative leads," a news release said.
Further details weren't available.
The latest hair salon was robbed Monday morning in the Wicker Park neighborhood.
In each robbery, the partially disguised suspect has brandished a gun and demanded money, usually netting hundreds in cash.
