Cutler Leaves Game In Second Quarter With Groin Injury

By Adam Hoge-

LANDOVER, Md. (CBS) -- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a groin injury and left Sunday's game against the Redskins after being sacked in the second quarter.

After undergoing tests in the locker room, he was ruled out for the rest of the game. Head coach Marc Trestman said he would be reevaluated at Halas Hall Monday morning.

Despite a report indicating that Cutler went to the hospital, the Bears confirmed that the quarterback never left the stadium and was still in the locker room at halftime. After the game, he was carted from the locker room to the team bus.

Cutler suffered the injury when he was tackled by Redskins defensive lineman Chris Baker on the play. He rolled over Baker as he was being tackled and stayed down. Players from both teams were seen immediately signaling for the trainers.

Cutler walked off the field gingerly on his own power and was escorted straight to the locker room. 670 The Score's Zach Zaidman reported on WBBM Newsradio 780's broadcast that Cutler underwent x-rays.

Backup quarterback Josh McCown relieved Cutler in the game and played well, throwing for 204 yards and a touchdown while completing 14 of 20 passes. Cutler was just 3 of 8 for 28 yards and an interception that was returned for a touchdown before he suffered the injury.
