1 Dead, 3 Wounded In Washington Park Neighborhood Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A teenage boy is dead, and three other boys and men were wounded, after a gunman opened fire in an apartment building in the Washington Park neighborhood.
As CBS 2's Susanna Song reports, the 15-year-old boy was killed in the shooting in the building on 53rd Street just west of King Drive and Washington Park.
WBBM Newsradio's Lisa Fielding reports family members and friends arrived to the scene visibly shaken.

A 14-year-old boy was in critical condition at Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago, and two men, ages 20 and 32, were hospitalized at the U of C and Stroger Hospital of Cook County with non-life-threatening injuries, the Sun-Times Media Wire reported.
The four male friends were part of a group visiting a relative at the building when shots rang out around 8 p.m. Monday. They were in the first-floor hallway at the time.
Witnesses told police a car pulled up, and the gunman exited and opened the door to the building. Then he opened fire.
Neighbors identified the boy who was killed as George "Kermit" Howard, the wire reported. The 14-year-old boy who was wounded was known by relatives of the other victims only as "Snooze," according to the wire report.
The 32-year-old man, identified as Wayne Strange, and the 20-year-old man, Keith Strange, were shot in the shoulder and hip, respectively, the wire reported.
The mother and grandmother of Wayne and Keith Strange said the group was coming to visit her.
A family member who lived in the apartment said the shootings have been more frequent in the area.
Wentworth Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, but no one had been arrested as of 5 a.m. Monday.
