Braves Have Reportedly 'Moved On' From Dempster Trade
(WSCR) According to a report, the Braves have made Ryan Dempster's decision for him: they're moving on.
On Monday, the Braves and Cubs agreed on a deal sending the veteran pitcher to Atlanta, though the deal needed to first be approved by Dempster, in accordance with baseball's 10-5 trade rights policy.
Braves general manager Frank Wren was on 680 The Fan in Atlanta this morning, casting a great deal of doubt on the possible trade.
"It's very highly unlikely," he said. "We've put parameters on the deal that expired yesterday. We were moving on from the time we heard there was potential for another club being where he wanted to go."
