Braun said she wanted to visit with neighborhood retailers across Chicago to gauge how they are faring in this tight economy. She says these are the people who can create jobs.
"We're going to talk to small business and boutiques about how they're doing; how well they're doing, because, again, that's a real nice way to get a handle of, in a sense, of how the economic recovery is really coming – whether or not people are actually seeing recovery; whether they're seeing people spending money and shopping with them," Braun said.
Braun is the guest on this weekend's "At Issue" program, on which she speaks on this and a variety of other topics. "At Issue" airs on WBBM 780 at 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
