Brady Gets Warm Welcome At Tea Party Rally
HOMER GLEN, Ill. (AP) - Republican governors from Louisiana, Virginia and Mississippi have rallied for Bill Brady at an event hosted by Tea Party groups.
The state senator from Bloomington was with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell last night (Wednesday night) at a rally hosted by the Will County Tea Party Alliance.
The governors implored the more than 1,000 people at the rally to talk to their friends, neighbors and family members about voting for Brady.
Barbour ridiculed Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn for running on a platform to raise the state income tax. Brady flatly rejects raising taxes and has instead suggested tax cuts.
Recent polls show Brady with a slight lead over Quinn in the race for Illinois governor.
The rally was the last stop on Brady's "Clean Break Express'' bus tour.
