Boyfriend In Custody After Beating Children
YORKVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A west suburban man is being held on $100,000 bond after being charged with beating his girlfriend's young children with a leather belt.
Brian C. Lesure, 30, of Montgomery, was charged with two counts each of aggravated battery to a child and domestic battery, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff's office.
At about 2:40 p.m. Monday, sheriff's deputies were called to the 0-100 block of Rocky Way in the unincorporated Boulder Hill area of Montgomery to assist state Dept. of Children and Family Services in the investigation of a child abuse claim, the release said.
The sheriff's office initiated a criminal investigation when it was learned that a 5-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl had been beaten with a belt, the release said. Lesure, the live-in boyfriend of the children's mother, allegedly told police he struck each child eight or nine times on the buttocks with the belt.
Both sustained bruising and were treated and released at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. They have been removed from the home by DCFS and placed in protective custody, the release said.
Lesure was ordered held on $100,000 bond on the charges of felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor domestic battery. He was being held at the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville as of late Wednesday afternoon.
