Police: Boy, 8, Shot While Playing With Gun With Another Child In Lawndale

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An 8-year-old boy was wounded in the stomach after playing with a gun with another child Tuesday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said.
The boy and another 8-year-old child were playing with a gun inside a home near 13th Street and Lawndale Avenue around 10:45 a.m., when the gun went off, police said.
Police said the boy's mother brought him to the emergency room of Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the side of his stomach.
The boy was in good condition Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the boy's parent or guardian could face criminal charges, but the shooting was still under investigation early Wednesday.
