Boy, 5, Injured In Hit And Run
ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) - A car jumped a curb and struck a 5-year-old boy playing in his front yard Friday night in northwest suburban Elgin.
The wreck occurred about 10 p.m. at Walnut Avenue and Orchard Street, according to a release from Elgin police.
The boy was playing in the front yard of his home in the 200 block of Orchard Street when a dark-colored compact car apparently drove over the curb and struck the child, the release said.
The boy was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, and was later transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, the release said.
