Boy, 16, Critically Hurt In Roseland Shooting
(STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy was critically hurt and another man was wounded in a shooting Monday evening in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 10500 block of South LaSalle Street, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs. He had been shot in the chest, O'Brien said.
A man in his 20s was also wounded, suffering a graze wound, O'Brien said. He refused medical treatment and is not cooperating with police.
Authorities believe a suspect involving in the shooting may be hiding nearby in the 300 block of West 106th Place, O'Brien said. Police are monitoring that location, but no arrests have been made as of Monday evening.
Area South detectives are investigating.
