Boy, 15, Wounded In NW Side Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) - A 15-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the Northwest Side Humboldt Park area.
About 3:07 p.m., the shooter approached the victim on foot in the 3900 block of West Wabansia Avenue and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police News Affairs Officer Phillip Armstrong said. His condition was "stable," police said.
The shooter fled the scene on foot and was not in custody as of 4 p.m., Mirabelli said.
According to an unconfirmed dispatch report, a minivan that was driving down the street at the time of the shooting had a window blown out by gunfire.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
