Boy, 15, Shot At Division And Wells
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 15-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was shot during a fight on the city's Near North Side Monday night.
Police say the boy was walking with some friends and Division and Wells streets a few minutes before 10 p.m., when they came upon another group of boys and a fight ensued.
The boy was shot in the arm, police said. He found his way to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was reported in good condition early Tuesday.
The intersection of Division and Wells streets is at the cusp of three very different neighborhoods.
It represents the southern end of the fashionable Old Town neighborhood, and is also just a couple of blocks from the late-night revelry and clothing of the Rush and Division nightclub district. The intersection is also just beyond the western edge of the neighborhood surrounding the old Cabrini-Green public housing development.
No one was in custody in the shooting Tuesday morning.
