Boy, 15, Dies After Being Shot In Head Over Weekend
(STMW) -- A 15-year-old boy shot in the head Sunday afternoon in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood has been pronounced brain-dead, authorities said.
The teen was standing in the street in the 2800 block of South Spaulding Avenue when he was shot about 4:40 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
A male shooter got out of a vehicle and opened fire at him before fleeing, O'Brien said.
Victor Damian, of the 3000 block of South St. Louis Avenue, was pronounced brain-dead at 11:40 a.m. Monday morning at Mount Sinai Hospital, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives continue to investigate.
