Boy, 15, Critically Hurt In SW Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) - A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded in a Marquette Park neighborhood shooting Wednesday evening on the Southwest Side.

Police said a male was shot multiple times in the 6400 block of South Hamlin Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien, citing preliminary information.

Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said the 15-year-old boy was shot in the back, shoulder and legs and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital with trauma.

The gunman fled on foot and is not in custody Wednesday night.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
