Boy, 15, Among 6 Wounded In Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) -- At least six people -- including a 15-year-old boy -- were hurt in shootings across Chicago since Friday evening, according to police.
The teen was shot about 2 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Claremont Avenue in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side. Police said he was wounded in the leg, and treated in good condition at Holy Cross Hospital.
A woman was shot twice in the leg Saturday afternoon in the 6700 block of South Lafayette in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.
The 19-year-old woman was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to police.
Earlier about 3:20 a.m. Saturday, one man, 23, was shot in the leg in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood and was taken in good condition to Mount Sinai hospital, police said. Another man, 26, was shot in the knee, but refused medical treatment.
About 2 a.m., a man was shot in a separate shooting in the 5900 block of South Normal Avenue, in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.
He was shot in the leg, but made it on his own to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Centers, where police were notified. He is in good condition early Saturday.
The weekend's first shooting happened Friday afternoon about 5 p.m., police said. An 18-year-old man was shot in the thigh in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.
No one is in custody in connection with any of the shootings as of Saturday morning, as area detectives continue to investigate.
