CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 13-year-old boy is dead, after a mini-bike he was riding crashed on the city's South Side.
The boy was pulling out of a parking lot into traffic in the 300 block of West 43rd Street about 9 p.m. when his bike struck a westbound vehicle, ejecting him, police said.
He was taken to University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital, where he died, police said.
The boy was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Antonio Williams, 13, of the 300 block of West 42nd Place.
An autopsy determined Tuesday that the boy died of multiple injuries from the crash and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner's office.
The driver of the vehicle that the mini-bike struck stayed at the scene of the crash, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The police Major Accident Investigations Unit is investigating, but no citations or charges were filed as of early Tuesday, Alfaro said.
