Boy, 10, Wounded In Halloween Shooting In Albany Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire in the Albany Park neighborhood on Halloween night, wounding a 10-year-old boy.
As CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli reports, the boy was shot in the leg when a barrage of bullets sprayed the air just before 10 p.m. Monday in Ronan Park, near Lawrence and Sacramento avenues.
The boy was in his Halloween costume at the time, returning from a trick-or-treating trip with several other people.
Several people witnessed the shooting, and responding officers could be seen talking with young people dressed in costumes near the bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River on Lawrence Avenue.
Police say the boy was with several other people when the assailant opened fire.
As of Tuesday morning, the boy was recovering at Children's Memorial Hospital, where he was reported in good condition.
No suspect was in custody as of 5 a.m. Tuesday.
