Box with human remains discovered on Chicago's West Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A box containing human remains was discovered on the city's West Side Thursday evening.
At 5:52 p.m., a witness old police they were on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of West Taylor Street, and found a box containing an unknown victim's remains.
The immediate area is dominated by industrial buildings and grounds.
The contents of the box have been turned over to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office for investigation.
Police did not provide further details about the human remains.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
