Bowman: Blackhawks 'Obviously Disappointed' By Latest Kane Antics
(CBS) In case you were wondering, the Blackhawks are indeed aware of the pictures of Patrick Kane partying in Madison, Wis. earlier this month.
After ignoring the issue altogether for weeks, general manager Stan Bowman finally addressed it during a conference call announcing the extensions given to Jamal Mayers and Johnny Oduya:
"Obviously we're aware of that situation and we followed it closely," Bowman said. "We discussed it with Patrick. We've handled that internally. We're obviously disappointed with how it played out and Patrick is aware of that fact. At this point, it's a private matter. Out of respect for Patrick, we're not going to comment further. We're going to look forward and try to focus on things and try to improve our team moving into the summer."
Numerous pictures of Kane partying in Madison surfaced the day after the city's annual "Mifflin Block Party" May 5. One photo showed Kane hunched over at a bar, while others showed him laying on the ground with beer cans and walking away from a police officer.
