Bowen: Hester Needs To Step Up
(WSCR) The league's most electrifying return man is not translating into an electric receiver -- one former NFL player and current analyst thinks Hester needs to get his game in top form.
"Devin looks very frustrated right now," Matt Bowen of The National Football Post told The Boers and Bernstein Show on Monday. "That's what I see from watching the games. Right now, it just seems like the only route they have with him is that wide-receiver screen and run down the field. That's not good enough. You gotta get something more out of him."
Hester, who has been under-utilized at times this season, has seven receptions for 139 yards and no touchdowns through three games.

"He's a very good route-runner," Bowen said. "I saw him in camp, he had an excellent camp. But we're now going into Week 4 of the season and the production hasn't been there. That's another name that needs to step up for the Bears. He has the talent to do it, he's just gotta go out and show it on Sundays.
