Bowen: Bears Need To Be In 'Desperation Mode'
(WSCR) Early reports indicate injured quarterback Jay Cutler may be ready to go before the end of the season, but if the Bears can't string together a few wins behind Caleb Hanie, Cutler's return seems pointless.
The Bears dropped what some had penciled in as a must-win game against the Chief last Sunday, putting even more importance on this weekend's showdown with the Broncos in Denver.
"You try to move on and get on to the new team, new personnel and try to get something going," Matt Bowen of the National Football Post and Chicago Tribune told The Mully and Hanley Show. "I would say this about the Bears right now: They have to almost be in a desperation mode where they know that if they go out to Denver and lose, those teams, Atlanta and Detroit, they have a lot of talent. They're going to show up here pretty quick."
