Borbor Sesay was extradited from Grand Rapids, Mich., and was charged with three felony counts of aggravated sexual assault and one felony count of robbery, Chicago police said.

Police say Sesay followed a woman after she got off the CTA Red Line at the Morse stop to her apartment lobby, where he attacked and sexually assaulted her.

Sesay, prosecutors said, pushed the victim into the stairwell and continued the assault as the victim fought back. Sesay then demanded money from the victim and left after she gave him $120. She ran to her apartment and told her boyfriend what happened, prosecutors said. Police were called, and the victim was taken to the hospital where a sexual assault kit was administered.

Sesay took a bus to Grand Rapids where he has family ties, prosecutors said.

Detectives used CTA security camera footage and the data from the CTA Ventra card Sesay used to board the train to determine his identity.  Video captured Sesay following the victim, prosecutors said.

The assault happened in the 1300 block of West Lunt Avenue on July 9, around 1:30 a.m.
