Boozer's Performance Still 'An Issue' For Bulls
CHICAGO (WSCR) After struggling with the Indiana Pacers for four games, the Chicago Bulls finally looked like the 62-win team of the regular season. The Bulls cruised past the Pacers with a 116-89 win on Tuesday night.
But there's still one element that's drawing some concern for Chicago, and that's the play of Carlos Boozer.
"It's an issue, and there's really no getting around it," K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "I looked at the stats, the guy's averaging a double-double this series, which I found absolutely shocking. Now I'm not trying to minimize how ineffective he was, becuase he was, and the foul trouble is certainly an issue. And it obviously looked worse last night because I thought Taj [Gibson] was just fantastic."

Gibson only averaged 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in the regular season while playing just over 21 minutes a night. And while all of those numbers have dropped in the postseason, Gibson has contributed solid minutes for Tom Thibodeau.
"They're going to stick with this guy," Johnson said. "It's clear, you can't do something like that at this stage in the season, that public of a benching."
Boozer signed a big free agent contract with the Bulls over the offseason.
"Again, they went to him early last night and he was playing OK until he got those two, first quarter fouls," Johnson said. "It sounds like a broken record becuase it is. He's in foul trouble every game, in the first quarter. I don't know how you combat that becuase he's clearly, I think, now mentally effected by his struggles. And the fact that he has this minor injury now, it's a good thing they're getting rest for five days, becuase he certainly needs it both mentally and physically."
