Boozer Expresses Displeasure Over 4th Quarter Playing Time
(CBS) Bulls forward Carlos Boozer expressed frustration Monday over his lack of playing time in the fourth quarter recently, the Tribune's K.C. Johnson reported.
In an 88-79 loss at New Orleans on Saturday, Boozer scored just four points and had four rebounds in 22 minutes. He hasn't played in the fourth quarter of Chicago's past two games, and he often sits for long stretches of the fourth quarter as Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau uses reserve forward Taj Gibson in his place. From the sounds of it, Boozer isn't pleased.
"I should be out there, but it's (Thibodeau's) choice," Boozer said ahead of Monday night's game at Sacramento, according to the Tribune. "I play. I don't coach. So he decides that. But honestly, he's been doing that a lot since I've been here, not putting me in the fourth quarter. Sometimes we win, more times than not we don't. But that's his choice."
Boozer is averaging 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds this season. It's been long rumored that Boozer could have the amnesty clause used on him by the Bulls this summer.
