Body Pulled From Chicago River
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The body of a 40-year-old woman was pulled from the North Branch of the Chicago River Tuesday morning on the Northwest Side.
Police were notified about 8:15 a.m. of a body in the river near the 4200 block of West Foster Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
The police Marine Unit was called to the scene, Estrada said. The body was pulled from the river and identified as that of a 40-year-old woman, authorities said.
Robbie Garrett, of the 10900 block of South Racine Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Area North detectives are conducting a death investigation.
