Body In Dumpster May Have Been From NW Side
NORTHLAKE, Ill. (STMW) - The body of a man found in a dumpster at a west suburban paper recycling company Monday morning could have come from any of several recycling sites in Chicago, police said Tuesday.
About 9:15 a.m. Monday, an employee of Loop Paper Recycling at 301 W. Lake St. in Northlake found the body of a man in a pile of recently dumped paper in a dumpster, a release from Northlake police said.
The man was fully-clothed and there was no identification on or near the body, police said. He appeared to be between 40 and 50 years old.
The man has been tentatively identified, according to police, but the possible ID was being withheld Tuesday pending notification and confirmation by family. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office, which said the man was dead at the scene, did not have the ID Tuesday.
Police determined the load of paper the body was found in was recently dumped by a compactor truck that had picked up paper from recycling sites in several locations on the Northwest Side of Chicago, the release said.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause and manner of death, though police said there were no apparent signs of injury or trauma.
