Body In Des Plaines River Is Slain Joliet Woman
JOLIET (CBS) -- A woman's body found Saturday in the Des Plaines River has been identified through dental records as that of a Joliet woman who was allegedly killed by her son last month in her home, according to the Will County coroner's office.
Jeanie Parker, 54, disappeared March 21 from her home on Fifth Avenue, and police found signs of a violent struggle, including blood in and out of the house, authorities said.
They said Parker, 54, was choked and stabbed to death by her son, Charles C.J. McCullum, who lived with her in the house.
McCullum, 21, faces charges of murder, aggravated battery and concealing a homicidal death. He reportedly told police he killed his mother and threw her dead body into the river at Bluff Park.
On Saturday, a fisherman spotted a woman's body floating in the river near Hollywood Casino in Channahon.
The coroner's office confirmed that the woman died of multiple stab wounds, which matches McCullum's story about how he killed his mother.
