Blues' Alex Pietrangelo: 'Going To Be Fun To Win It In Chicago'
(CBS) It seems that in the mind of Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, his team's tightly contested first-round series with the Blackhawks has already been won.
Chicago stole Game 5 in St. Louis, a 4-3 double-overtime win, but the Blues are more than confident in their ability to close it out Saturday in at the United Center as they still lead the series 3-2. Pietrangelo made what some would deem a guarantee.
"It's going to be fun here to win it in Chicago," Pietrangelo told reporters after the game. "That's the game plan right now. Their backs are still against the wall. We've all got to flip the switch and get ready for Saturday."
Call it cocky or confident, but those words should resonate with the Blackhawks. Each of the five games in this first-round series has been decided by a goal, with Kane winning Game 5 on a wrap-around goal off his own rebound.
The Blackhawks and Blues have played evenly matched hockey thus far, with such a trend expected to continue Saturday night.
Of course, Pietrangelo doesn't seem worried one bit.
