Blue Line Construction To Cause Overnight Delays
CHICAGO (STMW) - Late-night Blue Line riders should allow extra travel time this week as maintenance work is expected to cause minor delays.
Blue Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the LaSalle and Grand stations from 11 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday while crews perform maintenance work, according to the CTA's website. The work will continue at the same times the following two nights, ending early Wednesday.
As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Jackson, Monroe, Washington and Clark/Lake stations, the CTA said.
Additionally, Blue Line trains will operate on the same track between the Clark/Lake and Damen stations from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday during track maintenance, the CTA said. The work will continue at the same time the next day.
Passengers must board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Grand, Chicago and Division stations, the CTA said.
Minor delays are expected and the CTA is advising passengers to allow extra travel time.
The work will also affect Train Tracker prediction availability.
