Blast Injures Five In Town Near Kankakee
HERSCHER, Ill. (AP) -- An explosion near the town of Herscher has injured five people.
The (Kankakee) Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/r1t2Pu ) reports that the explosion happened Tuesday morning at the site of the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America.
Herscher is about 60 miles southwest of Chicago, near Kankakee.
There's no word yet on the conditions of those injured.
The newspaper reports that the gas at the plant appears to have been secured.
