Blackhawks Won't Forget 5-0 Beating
In a big Western Conference matchup, the Chicago Blackhawks lost to the Dallas Stars 5-0. It was a game that the Blackhawks never really seemed to be in, and it's a game they'll use to remind them of the way they need to play.
"We shouldn't forget about this one too quick," Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews said. "We will definitely remind ourselves of how bad we were and how disappointing our performance was."
The Blackhawks were out hit and out shot by the Stars, and looked nothing like the team that had just come off a 12-game stretch that saw them earn 20 of the 24 possible points.
"They wanted the game more than we did," defenseman Brent Seabrook said of the team's performance. "They battled harder, they won more battles. They fought for loose pucks harder and when they had the chance, they put it in the back of the net. I think we did the opposite of that."
There's still no need for the Blackhawks, or their fans, to panic. They team is still in good position to make the playoffs, but in a wild Western Conference race they can ill afford to have anymore games like the one on Thursday night.
The Blackhawks next game is on Sunday night, against the Phoenix Coyotes.
