Blackhawks Trade Kopecky To Panthers
CHICAGO (CBS) The Blackhawks traded Tomas Kopecky to the Florida Panthers Monday in exchange for a seventh round draft pick in 2012 or 2013.
Kopecky is an unrestricted free agent so the Panthers gain the negotiating rights before free agency starts July 1. The Blackhawks will receive the Panthers' seventh round pick in 2012, but that pick is currently conditional to the Nashville Predators. If it is not available, the Blackhawks will receive the Panthers' seventh round pick in 2013.
In two seasons with the Blackhawks, Kopecky accounted for 25 goals and 38 assists in 155 regular season games. He added four goals and two assists in 18 playoff games and won a Stanley Cup with the team in 2009.
