Blackhawks To Particpate In Charity Hockey Game

(WSCR) Miss hockey yet?

If so, you can get a little taste of NHL action as a few members of the Blackhawks compete in the "Champs for Charity" game featuring a large portion of the team that brought Chicago a Stanley Cup Championship in 2010.

Reports indicate Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Dave Bolland are among those slated to participate in the game Oct. 26 at Allstate Arena.  That trio, along with other members from the '10 team, will compete as the "Chicago Stars" and other NHLers will make up the "World" team.

The event came to life thanks for former Hawk Andrew Burish, who said he was going out of his mind without hockey.

"It's a good excuse to get everyone back together and play hockey and have fun," said Burish, who is a member of the Sharks. "And we can tie in a charity that everyone feels good about and, No. 3, let fans watch hockey again. The people of Chicago can watch the team that they fell in love with when we won the Cup."
