Blackhawks, Shaw Agree On 2-Year Deal
(CBS) The Blackhawks have locked up 22-year-old forward Andrew Shaw.
The team announced Tuesday they had agreed with Shaw on a two-year deal that will keep the forward with the team through the 2015-16 season.
"It's great to come to this agreement with Andrew and keep another important member of our team here in Chicago" said Blackhawks Vice President and General Manager Stan Bowman in a statement. "Andrew has proven his ability to play a prominent role on our team and we look forward to watching him continue to grow as a player for the Blackhawks."
Shaw, who was integral in the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup championship in 2013, currently ranks sixth on the team with 11 points - four goals and seven assists - and has posted a +11 plus/minus rating in 103 career regular-season games.
The Belleville, Ontario native was drafted in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
